Project GLOBE 3 concludes: a European path of growth, training, and learning
Project GLOBE 3, carried out by Lighthouse Languages within the framework of the Erasmus+ accreditation for adult education, has come to an end. Between February 2025 and May 2026, the project offered adult students, volunteers, and staff members various international mobility opportunities, aimed at strengthening linguistic, digital, communicative, intercultural, and professional skills.
Through experiences in different European countries, participants had the opportunity to engage with new educational, cultural, and organizational realities, undergoing training paths based on non-formal learning, the exchange of good practices, and active participation in the European dimension.
Iceland (February 16–23, 2025): mindfulness, well-being, and educational innovation
The first mobility of the project took place in Reykjavík, Iceland, from February 16 to 23, 2025, involving 8 participants in a Courses and Training activity titled “Mindfulness and Meditation with School Visit.” During the week, participants explored techniques in mindfulness, conscious breathing, meditation, yoga, and pilates applicable to educational contexts. Particular attention was paid to the Icelandic program “Now Minutes,” used in schools to integrate well-being practices into daily school life. The path also included visits to Icelandic educational institutions, meetings with education professionals, and networking sessions to find future Erasmus+ partners. The experience allowed participants to acquire new strategies to promote well-being, improve positive communication, and develop educational activities oriented toward inclusion and personal growth.
Corfu (August 5–13, 2025): group mobility encompassing mindfulness, AI, and intercultural learning
From August 5 to 13, 2025, 14 adult students took part in a group mobility in Corfu, Greece. The experience combined training activities, non-formal learning, and moments of local exploration. The program featured activities dedicated to mindfulness, personal well-being, stress management, and creating supportive environments. In the following days, participants also delved into the use of artificial intelligence, prompt engineering, and digital tools for self-directed learning, creative research, and content production. The mobility was enriched by cultural and nature visits to some of the island's most beautiful spots, including Barbati Beach, Paleokastritsa, Paxos, Antipaxos, Kassiopi, Sidari, and Port Timoni. These moments encouraged socialization, intercultural dialogue, and the discovery of local heritage.
Sümeg (September 24–27, 2025): job shadowing focused on cultural heritage and sustainable tourism
From September 24 to 27, 2025, four representatives from Lighthouse Languages participated in a Job Shadowing activity in Sümeg, Hungary. The mobility focused on the valorization of cultural and natural heritage, experiential learning, and intercultural exchange. During the stay, participants observed different methods of managing and interpreting historical and natural sites, exploring topics such as visitor safety, sustainable tourism, local community involvement, and heritage conservation. The program included a visit to the Hospital in the Rock in Budapest, training activities on work-based learning strategies for young professionals, visits to Tapolca Cave and Sümeg Castle, as well as sessions dedicated to visitor management, heritage interpretation, rural tourism, and local community engagement. The experience helped strengthen communicative, organizational, collaborative, and intercultural skills, providing participants with concrete tools to transfer into the association’s activities and future European projects.
Amsterdam (November 30 – December 5, 2025): ChatGPT and basic skills in artificial intelligence
From November 30 to December 5, 2025, 12 participants took part in a Courses and Training activity in Amsterdam dedicated to “ChatGPT and Basic AI Skills.” The course aimed to reinforce the digital and communicative skills of the participants, providing practical and conscious tools for using artificial intelligence. The training activities covered the basics of AI, the use of innovative software, creating engaging lessons, producing educational materials for different disciplines, and adapting educational activities with the support of artificial intelligence. The program also included meetings with local educational institutions and cultural exploration, allowing participants to experience new methodologies and reflect on the role of emerging technologies in adult education.
Brussels (May 4–9, 2026): European citizenship and EU institutions
The final mobility of the project took place in Brussels from May 4 to 9, 2026. The activity represented an important opportunity to deepen the understanding of how European institutions work and the role of the European Union in citizens' daily lives. Through institutional visits, meetings, and training activities, participants were able to get a closer look at the European decision-making process, reflect on the founding values of the Union, and better understand the opportunities offered by European programs. The mobility helped strengthen a sense of European citizenship and active participation, allowing participants to experience the heart of European institutions firsthand and gain a greater awareness of their role as citizens of the Union.
A project that looks to the future
The mobilities carried out under GLOBE 3 confirmed the value of the Erasmus+ program as a tool for lifelong learning, social inclusion, and personal growth. Participants reported high levels of satisfaction and highlighted improvements in professional, linguistic, organizational, relational, and digital skills, alongside a greater openness toward intercultural dialogue and the European dimension. Through these experiences, Lighthouse Languages has continued to promote adult education as an opportunity for personal development and active participation, strengthening its commitment to building an increasingly open, inclusive, and international community. With the conclusion of GLOBE 3, the association is already looking forward to future opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ program, ready to continue its journey of growth and internationalization through new projects and European mobilities.
